TUP 2016 Home/Family PCs Section (E2)

Home PCs are the most widely-used Connected Device. Connected Users use more than one type of device, yet continue to rely on their Home PCs. Home PCs are increasingly being used for different activities than Tablets and Smartphones as a growing number of users adopt and shift their attention to those. Some market segments, however, continue to rely primarily on their Home PCs.

This section includes PC-related answers selected from the many questions in the comprehensive TUP survey. Forward-Leaning Users Define the Future

Cloud-based home security and energy management are on the cusp of either fizzling as a fad or expanding to a wider market, based on our recent MetaFacts market research. Also, the pattern consumers are exhibiting spells niche status for the Apple Watch, iPod and Chromebook.

While Apple can justly lay claim to the Forward-Leaning for favoring many of their products. For example, iPhone and MacBooks are strongest among both the first and second tier of Forward-Leaning consumers. In contrast, many other products have lingered and languished among the forward-learning.
