Historical TUP Tidbit:
Did you know that "TUP" has had three names during its two decades of existence? When the service was launched by InfoCorp, it started out as "MUTAP," which stands for Microcomputer User Trends Analysis Program. This mouthful (pronounced "myoo-tap") continued as the service name alongside similarly tongue-twisting analytical service names. Shortly after InfoCorp was bought by Computer Intelligence, the service was re-anointed as "CTI" for Consumer Technology Index. After some time, when it became clear that TUP didn't only cover consumers and wasn't an index, then the service was once again re-named. This time, the current name of Technology User Profile is more reflective of what it does - profiles the use of technology by users wherever they are.

Today, some clients call it TUP (like cup), while others call it T.U.P. By whatever name, it's still the same, solid resource.
