TUP 2015 Home/Family PCs Section (E2)

Home PCs are the most widely-used Connected Device. Connected Users use more than one type of device, and continue to rely on their Home PCs. Home PCs are increasingly being used for different activities than Tablets and Smartphones as a growing number of users adopt and shift their attention to those. Some market segments, however, continue to rely primarily on their Home PCs.
This section includes PC-related answers selected from the many questions in the comprehensive TUP survey. The key banner points are three: respondents with a Home PC and high or low income, Home PCs and household composition (1-person, 2-persons and no children, 2-persons and children), and those with a Home PC and Wireless connection. The data-rich deliverable is designed for quick recognition of important findings, including statistical testing and indexes comparing values to their national averages. This report results cover many key topics: PC brands and newness, OS & OS ecosystems, other connected devices, user and household demographics, details about the usage profile, PC activities, purchase plans, and technology spending.

The MetaFacts TUP syndicated survey, conducted continuously since 1983, is based on the full range of technology users – those who connect to the Internet through PCs, Mobile Phones, Tablets, or Game Consoles. It spans consumers, employees, the self-employed, students, and even users of public/shared devices.
This document includes 828 pages in PDF and Excel, featuring cross-tabulations which may be used for market sizing, user profiling, benchmarking, and to support many decisions.
